I believe that there should be a key nutritient food to force our ancestors to pass from eating fruit from trees to eating protein based nutrients such as meat. No mammals can evolve such a rapid change from being vegetarians then all of a sudden being hunters and eat meat. Especially without knowing how to use fire and cook…I came to a conclusion that maybe our ancestors were really eating all the greens and fruits up on the trees but maybe by the coming ice age and rapid decrease of the vegetation, they found the way to feed on that secret nutritiant hidden upon the trees. That key food for them is now called : EGGS…Especially with the falling temperatures, the birds suddenly migrated and even left their eggs on the trees. All the leaves and fruits have died and birds have left…suddenly the heaven turned into hell. But the eggs on the trees were staying there fresh under snow as if they stay now in our fridges. So the human made the choice. Or maybe they just thoughr it is a kind of fruit. Well there was not much choice left anyway. So they quickly discovered the way to crack the skin of egg in their mouth as snakes do, and swallow the protein rich nutrients. And they survived the beginning of ice age this way. But this rapid change in diet probably caused a great deal of changes in our genes too. Maybe that was what made us different from todays apes. Made our brains grow, made our skin less hairy and made us close to predators. But at least we survived…And considering that the ice age didnt only last for a couple of years, and most the eggs are gone, our ancestors found other ways to find protein rich food. Which is meat. Then they first started to eat what is left from real predators, they they started to hunt themselves too. Using tools of course. So I believe the story goes from fruit to egg, and egg to meat.

Hi there! Believe it or not, people who don't eat meat actually do just that! Vegans and their sell-out counterparts, lacto-ovo vegetarians, do not "give up" meat, as you put it, they just do not want to eat it because, to be honest, it is gross.

Lolz, anyway, byee!

Ah, so we see the grand paradox here. This article postulates that humans were vegetarians before they ate meat and that it was the eating of meat that prompted us to invent fire, and all the preperations, cunning and planning needed to hunt the animals. Thus it is apparently our meateating habits that we have at least partially to thank for all of technology and progress. So, why go back? To be ethical and moral? pah! If you refuse to eat meat because you believe that we are really essentially no better than animals, than you must understand that many animals too kill and eat meat. To undermine our rightful and well earned place at the top of the food chain is downright ludicrous.

By the way, you mentioned grains... Grains are completely indigestible in the wild. Don't believe me? Try eating a whole grain on it's own. It will come out the other end in exactly the same form. It was not until the Neolithic times that we were able to crush the grains and digest them.

I respect that you are a vegan in every way. I have many vegan friends. But the evidence shows that we are designed to eat meat and that we have not adapted to eat the amount of carbohydrates many vegans inadvertently end up eating. I'm all for treating animals well and admire people who give up meat for their benefit, but let's be realistic with the facts.

This simply is not true. The reason we have developed superior brains was for hunting other animals.

We do not have the digestive tract that a herbivore gorilla has. Our digestive tract is closer to that of a dog. Obesity is caused directly from the over consumption of foods we did not consume for 99% of our entire existence--carbohydrates. The only exception is the small amount of fruit we ate during seasons that permitted it and the very infrequent finding of honey. Eating fruit in summer months helped us put on fat for the upcoming winter.

Do you know what advanced glycation end-products are? Do you know what carnosine is and does, and do you know where it comes from?

We are natural meat eaters in every way. It may not seem ethical, but it is what it is.
